Chad Abell and Eric Crozier have merged their Lafayette-based architectural firm with San Antonio-based Gregory Davis to form Abell + Crozier + Davis Architects.

The newly combined architectural entity focuses on religious, educational, and health care-focused design for clients throughout the Gulf South.

“Our experience and client bases were so similar, the synergy came naturally,” Davis says in a press release announcing the merger.

Abell says in the release that by joining forces, someone from the firm can be on-site for a client within three to four hours to any location along the Gulf South.

In addition to his career as an architect, Davis is a liturgical design consultant. He received sanctioned training from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and has used this knowledge to complete more than 30 new churches or major renovations.

The firm's new name, Abell + Crozier + Davis Architects, now includes the tagline, “Creating positive space.”

The firm’s liturgical body of work includes St. Mark the Evangelist Church, St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, the Master Plan for St. Thomas More High School, the chapel and library of St. Cecilia School and a new adoration chapel at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

In addition to their religious portfolio, Abell + Crozier + Davis Architects team members have also completed projects for Social Security Administration Offices in Lafayette, New Iberia, and Houma, Oral & Facial Surgery Center, Busch Fireplace, Texas Military Institute, Community Foundation of Acadiana, National Oilwell Varco Tuboscope Administration Building, and Dupré Logistic’s Houston, Texas, area terminal.
