Oil Center Gardens got a little sweeter today as Lolli’s Chocolates opened its doors for business. This is the second location for the locally owned and operated family business — Lolli’s Chocolates has been open in Harahan for eight years and is run by the same family as the new Lafayette shop.

New Orleans native and owner Sophia Bodin recently moved to Lafayette after the decision to relocate Lolli’s Magazine Street store to the Hub City. “It’s exciting to be somewhere new. The Oil Center is a good central location,” says Bodin.

All items are handmade by Bodin and her husband Shane — originally from New Iberia — chocolate covered strawberries, assorted chocolates, and gift baskets are offered at the 1116 F Coolidge Blvd. store. With football season on the way, Ragin’ Cajun fans should stop in for football inspired gifts of red and white fleur de lis chocolates.
