Whole Foods reaffirms its commitment to Ambassador Crossing
Even before last week's press release debacle — in which the Ambassador Crossing developer announced several tenants before leases had been signed — speculation had begun to bubble up that the Whole Foods deal at Setters Trace Boulevard and Ambassador Caffery Parkway was running into trouble.
Not so, says Whole Foods. “I spoke directly to the folks in our Southwest regional office, and they said, ‘We can confirm that we have a signed lease for this property and plan to open a store at that location,” Libba Letton, a media relations rep for Whole Foods, tells ABiz.
Since receiving the press release last week, in which Houston-based developer The Ainbinder Company claimed to have commitments from Chipotle Mexican Grill, Which Wich Superior Sandwiches, Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry, J. Crew, Carter’s Babies & Kids/Osh Kosh B’Gosh, Massage Envy and Superior Nails, and publishing a story based on it, ABiz had to backtrack after learning that Chipotle and Lee Michaels don’t have leases. Read that story here.
On Tuesday we confirmed Which Wich's and Massage Envy's commitments to the project, and today Superior Nails owner Thai Nguyen confirms his second location will indeed be in Ambassador Crossing. His first Superior Nails is in Parc Lafayette, and he also owns four locations of Luxurious Nails in the Lafayette area.
Still no word from J. Crew or Carter’s; we'll let you know as soon as we hear from them.
