The Moody College of Business Administration at UL has announced the advent of its International Business Curriculum, an initiative designed to increase global business knowledge among students at the university. The curriculum is offering three study tracks related to a minor or concentration, depending on a student’s linguistic or regional interests.

“Our curriculum is now more internationally relevant than ever in giving students the ability to specialize in international business studies along with targeted business study abroad and internship options related to various regions of the world,” says Dr. David Baker, assistant professor of international marketing and graduate-level international business and chair of the internationalization program.

The study tracks offered through the program are an International Language and Culture minor with French and Spanish options; International Regional Business minor focusing on Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East; and an International Concentration track, which offers study-abroad and internship options. The college this year is also offering study-abroad options for students in France, Italy and Costa Rica; Chana and India will be added in future semesters.

“International business now touches all aspects of our lives and jobs, whether we realize it or not,” adds Dr. Baker. “The global financial crisis of 2008 and the current international currency valuation debate are two great examples of how globalization affects us all.”
