Further- when tourists come to lafayette and love it- that's what they see! Downtown, not river ranch. It will just be one more charming addition- So, Come downtown! There's plenty of parking. You can park for free (with a ticket validated by America's) in the lot with the Tsunami sign at the corner of Buchanan and Garfield. And as a single female I've never felt threatened by any downtown "characters". You never know what you're going to get downtown. From there, you can head in any direction. Actually, I'm finding RR in many ways the NEW downtown. Just one example: Rhythms on the River on Thursday nights is far more pleasant than Downtown Alive! It's cleaner; parking is easier; walking in River Ranch is more enjoyable. Downtown you never know when homeless pandhandlers are going to hit you up for money. Granted, CC's is already there. But there's plenty of business to support two bistros. Oh, well, I guess since they're already at Pinhook and Kaliste Saloom, a second location would be redundant. Still, the roads in and out of the River Ranch area make it more accessible.
