Having a MS in Mass Communication and having been actively employed in the music industry for 20+ years, I find this as a negative. What it all boils down to is that there are now are fewer corporate "pencil pushers" now to determine what content to shove down the unknowing public's throats. Realize this.... most of these "mega" communications giants also own/control the record companies, television companies, newspapers, magazines, websites, etc.... I know in 1998, only 7% of America's corporations controlled over 90% of all media outlets. It is certainly shrinking more and more. Believe me. The "giants" can't tell us what to think, but certainly can tell us "what to think about."
